Internet Plagiarism Search
Protecting your copyrights has always been a problem on the internet. Googling your stuff could take years, so it was difficult to find cases of plagiarism, and even more difficult (perhaps) to enforce your copyrights when the perpetrators are who-knows-where. Joanne Olivieri of A Poets View had just such an experience recently; finding two blogs that are copying nearly post for post in absolute shameless disregard for copyrights (and morals…and seriously, people, copying word for word and the pictures, I saw them). A yucky situation, but at least she found them, and by telling everyone about she’s also shared a really handy website for finding copyright infringement on your online content: copyscape.com. They do charge you to look past a certain point, but they’ll show you top ten results for free. If there is something out there you’ll know it. Very handy.
Oh, and if you feel the same way about this that I do, you might drop by http://duhos.info and http://davbyrne.info and let them know in their comments that they are evil leeching plagiarists.
